Organisational Profile

Community-rooted work in education, livelihood, care, and social development.

Vivekananda Loksiksha Niketan (VLN) draws its strength from a committed base of 126 members105 men and 21 women – along with numerous well-wishers who contribute their time, skills and resources to the organization’s mission. This strong network has been the cornerstone of VLN’s sustained community impact for over four decades.

While we acknowledge that some senior members, due to personal circumstances, are less active in day-to-day operations, their guidance and wisdom remain invaluable. We continue to encourage and welcome their participation whenever possible. Encouragingly, there has been a steady influx of youth from the locality eager to join our efforts. New membership applications undergo a careful vetting process to ensure alignment with the organization’s values and mission. The enthusiasm and dedication of our younger members and women members have been instrumental in driving project success, reflecting a healthy blend of energy, innovation and inclusivity.

A significant milestone in our governance came with the recent reconstitution of the Executive Committee, which brought in dynamic younger leaders while retaining the wisdom of experienced guides such as Mr. Braja Gopal Sahoo, Mr. Nishikanta Jana, and Mr. Satyaranjan Das. This combination of youthful Vigor and seasoned leadership ensures both innovation and continuity in decision-making.

Our Executive Committee members work in close coordination with the General Secretary to plan, oversee and implement organizational strategies. The dedication of our officers and staff across various projects has been commendable, ensuring that all programmatic goals are met with professionalism and care.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our staff, volunteers and supporters, whose collective efforts allow VLN to continue delivering impactful initiatives in education, child protection, women’s empowerment, elderly care, livelihood development, health and nutrition and special education for children with disabilities.
